I made it into a Treasury on Etsy!!

I checked my email today and what did I find?!?!?!

A message that I was in a Treasury on Etsy.  It's a huuuuuge honor for me that someone loves something I made enough to put it in a Treasury.  I always look at the treasuries with amazement and my little black heart skips a beat in the hopes that one day I will be in one.  WELL TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!!  yippee!!!

So today I am off to the studio after a little hiatus.  I share a space in a loft with 2 walls of windows and no air conditioning.  When it's 90 degrees outside it's at least 100 degrees in the studio.  We finally had heat this winter for the first time in 5 years after someone finally complained to the landlord and they came in and turned the nob and voila - heat!   Ha Ha artists!!!

Iron Pyrite

I have had a bunch of Iron Pyrite beads sitting in front of me for some time now so I decided to look up their metaphysical properties.  Via crystal-cure.com

The resemblance of pyrite to gold has made it a traditional symbol for money and good luck. It's sunny golden color associates it with the sun, and with fortification and strengthening of the mind. The name comes from the Greek word meaning "a stone which strikes fire".
Iron Pyrite makes a wonderful energy shield, blocking out negativity from various sources. Some of its properties include:
  • Overcomes inertia and feelings of inadequacy
  • Energizes the area where you place it (such as on a desk where you work)
  • Helps you to see behind a facade

Exotic Minerals- yummy!!

I have been spending some time looking at stones lately.  Ever since I gave away my Dendritic Agate pendant- I have been obsessed with Dendritic Agate.  It started after I bought a new stone to replace the one I gave away.  Let me first say the boy am I glad now that I did give it away since I would never have found all of these other stones if I still had my original pendant.
Anyhoo.... When minerals grow within each other I find it super interesting.  I have run across Pyrite in Quartz, Apatite in Quartz, Epidote in Prehnite and so much more.
They are all amazing to me because they are like looking through a window into a mini universe.  So I will be gobbling them up when I can and putting together a new line called "Windows."  Photos coming soon...
